Vector and Parametric Equations

Parametric Equations : two equations that give the x- and y-cpprdinates of the moving object at time t.

Finding parametrics is pretty easy.

First we find the vector. When giving two points in this case our two points will be A(6,4) and B(3,2).

P2 -P1 is the formula used to find the vector when giving two points.

(3-6),(2-4) = <-3,-2>=Vector

Now that we have our Vector we can find our parametrics.

The parametric formula is (x,y)= x,y+t<vec,tor>

So we use the first formula that is giving (or either or) which is (6,4) to represent our (x,y).

        - (x,y)=(6,4)+t<-3,-2>

Once our equation is set we solve for the x's first and then the y's.

        - (x)= 6 - 3t
        - (y)= 4 - 2t

And thats how you find you find your solve for your Vectors and your Parametrics.
