7-6 :)

In class this week we learned about the inverse’s of trig functions.

Another thing is that since there is no secant button on your calculator or cosecant button or cotangent button, you could put 1 over sin or 1 over cos or 1 over tan to get your answer.

Every time you enter something in your calculator you have to check the mode you’re in or everything will be wrong.

There are at least two answers for each inverse.

To move quadrants:

Quadrant one to quadrant two-make negative and add 180 degrees.

Quadrant one to quadrant three-add 180 degrees.

Quadrant one to quadrant four-make negative and add 360 degrees.

Ex. Sin ^-1 ( 0.9 ) = 64.158, 115.842

Sin is positive in the first and second quadrant so you would make 64.158 negative and add 180, so you get 115.842.

It isn’t in the correct format so you have to turn the decimal into minutes and seconds.

-.158*60=9.48

-.48*60=28

64 degrees 9 minutes 28 seconds

-.842*60=50.52

-.52*60=31

115 degrees 50 minutes 31 seconds
