The Unit Circle can be used with either degrees or radians.
~0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, 270 degrees and 360 degrees represent the Degrees on the unit circle.
~0, pi/2, pi, 3(pi)/2, and 2(pi) represent the Radians on the unit circle.
~The angle you are given will be your point on the unit circle.
~siny=y/r; cscy=r/y; cosy=x/r; secy=r/x; tany=y/x; coty=x/y
~The radius will always equal 1.

*Ex.1:
sin(270^degrees):
*sin= y/r
* 270= pt(0,-1)
* -1/1= -1
* The answer would be -1
*Ex.2:
cos(pi/2):
*cos= x/r
*pi/2= pt(0,1)
*0/1= 0
*The answer would be 0
*Ex.3:
tan(90^degrees):
*tan=y/x
*90= pt(0,1)
*1/0= undefined
*The answer will be undefined
Hannah,
ReplyDeleteGreat work with the unit circle!
