9-1

angle A=90degrees angle B=25degrees side a=18.  Find sides b and c.

sin 25=b/18                                cos 25=c/18
b=7.607                                     c=16.314

We are given the angles A and B and side a, so I couldn't make the triangle thing you taught us is class on here so I didn't, but that helps you solve this equation.  You can't use the 90 degree angle to solve this problem.  Now that you have sides and angles, you have to figure out which formula is the best to use.  The formulas that you need to know to solve this problem are sin theta=opp./hyp., cos theta= adj./hyp., and tan theta=opp./adj.  So to try to find side b, the best formula to use is sin theta= opp./hyp.  You set up the equation and solve it and get b=7.607.  Then you have to find the other side.  To find the other side cos theta would be the best formula to use.  So you set it up as cos 25=c/18 and you get c=16.314.  And these are your two answers.
