Use the formulas on page 317
Steps to be loosely followed:
1. Algebra
2. Identities; try Pythagerean, if that doesn't work, move everything to sine and cosine.
3. Algebra again
4. Repeat steps 1-3 if needed

Example:
Secx - sinx tanx
s^2 + c^2 = 1
c^2 = 1 s^2
1/cosx - sinx(sinx / cosx)
1/cosx - sin^2x / cosx
1 - sin^2x / cosx
cos^2x / cosx
cosx
